PG Volunteer's asking each other, How many times do we have to do this to figure out how to fold this blasted thing up? FOUR TIMES that's how many!!!!! Some of us had a good laugh at their expense.
But seriously friends, thanks for sticking to getting the tent thing of a ma jig figured out and getting it put away----FINALLY.

I

A special thank you to Judi Kaufman for reconditioning collars and Kent Roberts for drawing caricatures, both of whom donated the proceeds to PG, Inc., Angie & Tina of Angie's Bark Avenue for providing free pedicures for the hounds and to all those who brought delicious covered dishes to share with their fellow adopters.

Well look who popped in to join us on our picnic day, but Personalized Greyhounds friend and President of the adoption group,  GPA/Tampa Bay in Florida,  Mrs. Maryann Tolliver.  She had a great time seeing MANY of her "kids" she sent up to us over the past few years, and we were honored she wanted to come to share in our day.

During the program, recognition was given to the volunteers who provided Foster Care during the past year. Those included: Maggie Ruff, Delene Russell, Sue Clausen, Dan & Mary Heatherly, Theresa & Doug Gosik, Tammy & Dave Holroy, Tiffany & Pat Smith, Gail & Kevin Fisher, Brenda Bankert, Lisa Layser, Pam Shabroon, Lora Apaliski, Rick & Cathy Campbell, Judi & Bill Kaufman, Ilene & Steve Sauertieg and Kelly & John McGinley

The Fortitude Award, presented for the third consecutive year by David Holsopple and Richard Reigle, is given in Memory of "Goliath," the first of nine greyhounds they have adopted from PG, Inc.  He was known during his racing career as "Fortitude."  He stood for what his name means, Virtue, Strength and Courage, and this award continues in that tradition.  It is given to a hound and/or its human for overcoming or helping another hound overcome adversities far and beyond their normal expectations.  This year, the award went to "Ivan Apaliski."

Volunteer of The Year 2007-08 awards were presented to Ilene Sauertieg. The "Catfish" Memorial Award For Good Citizenship went to "Duncan"  Smith.  These award winners join the following list of volunteers enshrined in the Personalized Greyhounds Hall of Fame.
